Guitar Transcriptions 2011

Below is a list of some of the songs that I’ve transcribed for guitar and bass guitar students in 2011.

While I have a good collection of music for mainstream rock including AC DC, The Beatles, Green Day, Guns n Roses Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Hendrix, Cream, Deep Purple, Metallica, Joe Satriani and many more there will always be tunes that will require my transcription skills. Especially recently released songs and song by Australian artists.

While there are tabs for many of these songs online they are often not quite right and tabs only give you part of the picture. My transcriptions include chords, notes and tabs with further explanations to students about the theory behind the song including harmony and scales used in riffs, melodies and solos.

For all students I will write out a transcription for songs that they’re interested in learning if one doesn’t exist as it helps to keep students motivated if they’re working on music they’re into.
